Dianne Butcher

Dianne Butcher started her career as an Architectural Technologist with Paton Taylor, working for Architects in London for 2 years and returning to work again for Paton Taylor. DDK was formed in 2010 as a retail supplier to Drawing Offices. Di has used her knowledge and experience in Tertiary Education needs to successfully design Student Kits which are individually packed and supplied to Universities and Techinkons, in consultation with the lecturing staff. Her architectural design experience has aided in their development of innovative, successful drawing office equipment. With her experience in the Architectural field, she has used her expertise to aid husband John in running a successful, very busy large format printing business, successfully dealing with complex printing needs.
Wellington is our trusty, reliable “go to” man for deliveries, equipment moving, collections and paper store manager. His name suits him well – as he doesn’t give up easily – so you can always trust him to get the delivery to you in time!! He joined us after working for us in John’s previous company for 10 years. On a personal note, he personally funds, sponsors, trains and manages “Real Touch Football Club” for teenagers aged 14-18 years – for the past 30 years.

John Butcher

John Butcher has always had an entrepreneurial spirit, running a no of projects as a teenager and has never felt comfortable working for a boss or in a corporate environment. Started a successful microfilm business on a handshake national contract with Beares Group. He saw the potential growth in the Drawing Office Industry and has used that as a platform since 1973. He successfully developed Drawing Office Equipment and with his gained knowledge of Tersiary Educational needs, he designed and supplied Student Drawing equipment – still in use today. From there he migrated to the Digital world and is now a principal supplier of Large Format Digital systems to the African continent, currently working on equipment for “BIM” systems.
Jessica, a favourite with our customers joined DDK in 2015. Thrown in the deep-end, she has managed to pick up many skills. She successfully multi-tasks and copes with the complex daily challenges from our customers. From taking calls, printing, binding, supplying the model equipment etc for students. Jessica does it all with a cheerful smile, sense of humour and amazing patience withhe difficult customers. Justin and Silvie Francis -Bookbinders & Restorers share our premises.Justin has over 30years experience in this field. They specialise in the binding of Thesis and Dissertations.
